Oklahoma State Head Football Coach Mike Gundy has come under fire today after a picture of him wearing an OAN (One America News) t-shirt on a fishing trip came to light. Yes, really.
If you don’t know, One America News is a right-wing television network that President Trump has praised for their coverage of him and his administration.
Without missing a beat, the woke sports media and players on Gundy’s own team came out to attack him.
One of Gundy’s players, Chuba Hubbard, the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, even went as far to say that he “won’t be doing anything for Oklahoma State” because of Gundy’s t-shirt.
Another Oklahoma State player Amen Ogbongbemiga agreed with Hubbard.
And the resident village idiot and notorious dumbass Mike Florio also weighed in.
This is just one of many examples of the woke sports media piling on Mike Gundy for wearing a freaking t-shirt.
I’m sure that if Mike Gundy wore a CNN or MSNBC shirt nobody would have a problem with it. If he did that he’d get his ass kissed by the media for the foreseeable future, and I’m positive that Chuba Hubbard wouldn’t be threatening to boycott the Oklahoma State football program. Gundy would get a couple of nice profiles written about him, and the media would talk about how brave he is for wearing a shirt that 99% of them agree with ideologically. Instead he gets dog-piled on by them and his players because heaven forbid he has different political views and likes different news networks than Mike Florio, Peter King, and Chuba Hubbard.
I can understand the media being outraged because they thrive on outrage, that’s how they get their clicks, but Hubbard? Come on. If you and other Oklahoma State Cowboys are so soft and so offended by a t-shirt, then how are you going to handle Oklahoma or Texas this season? Probably not very well.
In the last week we have canceled Drew Brees, Winston Churchill, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Gone with the Wind, Elmer Fudd, and fucking Paw Patrol. Now we can add Mike Gundy to Cancel Culture’s body count.
I’m sure we’ll get a half-assed apology and Mike Gundy will promise to do better, and for the next week Gundy will get pummeled until the woke mob goes after a new target.
Or maybe we won’t. Mike Gundy is a different breed and he seems like the type of guy who doesn’t take shit from anybody. Only time will tell.
