Fire Rob Manfred

This has been one of the most colossal screw ups of all time. This Bud Selig wannabe is single handedly ruining baseball. From juicing the baseballs to un-juicing the baseballs, to allowing two teams that cheated to win the World Series keep their World Series titles with relatively no consequences, to this absolute failure, Manfred is giving the sport a black eye. He should be fired.

He has allowed the owners and players to get into a pissing contest over the negotiations to restart the season. Meanwhile, over 40 Million Americans are unemployed because of the Coronavirus, and they can’t take their mind off their troubles for three hours because Millionaires and Billionaires can’t stop being a bunch of greedy assholes.

The MLB has had a golden opportunity to regain some of their fanbase and grow the game while no other major sports were able to resume play. Instead Manfred has taken the owners side on this issue and he’s pitted the owners and players against each other, and the fans are caught in the middle.

If there is no baseball this season, it’s going to make the fan exodus after the 1994 strike look like a drop in the bucket compared to what’s coming. Baseball is called America’s Pastime, but it’s not even the most popular sport in the country anymore. Baseball’s popularity has taken a nosedive for years now and this work stoppage could be the final nail in the coffin.

The players are understandably angry about this and they have released several statements today.

First of all, Trevor Bauer is my spirit animal and I can’t wait until he’s a Dodger. Secondly, the players are absolutely right to be angry. They just want to play the game they love.

The main thing I can’t stand about this whole thing is the elitist attitude from Manfred and the owners. They obviously don’t care about their fanbase and employees. They’d rather be petty and send the same offer three times in a row instead of wanting to bring entertainment to a hurting country. The only thing they care about is their bottom dollar.

There is a great quote from Hall of Fame Pitcher Bob Lemon where he said “Baseball was made for kids, and grown-ups only screw it up.” This quote has never been more true than today. The kids just want to watch their heroes play baseball and the “grown ups” keep screwing it up. Hopefully the “grown ups” can figure it out before it’s too late.
